The north coast most tours never show you

  • Tour buses running the same highway loop, skipping what makes this coastline remarkable
  • Large groups on a fixed schedule, rush every stop, skip the ones that need time
  • Guides who recite the same script regardless of what interests your group
  • No pickup, you rent a car, navigate unfamiliar mountain roads, find your own parking

A private day built around your group

  • Stops that don't appear on any tour aggregator, including pull-offs your guide knows by feel
  • Your group, your vehicle, your pace, we don't combine strangers on the same tour
  • A certified guide who adapts the day to what your group is actually interested in
  • Hotel pickup from San Juan, Rio Grande, Luquillo, or Fajardo, no rental car needed
Your Experience

What kind of explorer are you?

Every group is different. Tell us how you like to move and we'll shape the day around you.

The Explorer

I want to understand this coastline: the history, the geology, the culture. Show me what's real.

Best match for culture & history lovers

We spend more time at Cueva del Indio learning the volcanic geology, your guide goes deep on the Arecibo Lighthouse history, and we take the slow route along the coast so you see it all.

Reserve: The Explorer

The Adventurer

I want to get in the water, explore the caves, walk the volcanic rock. Full day, full send.

Most popular, all stops included

Crash Boat snorkeling, Cueva del Indio cave exploration, lighthouse tidal pool swim, black sand beach, the monument. This is the complete north coast day.

Reserve: The Adventurer

The Photographer

I want the shots nobody else has. Golden hour on volcanic cliffs. The aerial coastline view. The cave arch.

Best for sunrise / golden hour requests

We can time the north coast for the best light. The Cueva del Indio aerial view at the right hour is a shot you won't find anywhere else. Tell us when you want to start and we'll plan around it.

Your Day

What a day on the north coast looks like

01
First Stop

Crash Boat Beach: World-Class Snorkeling

The clearest water on the north coast. We start here when the sea is calm, your guide in the water with you the entire time, pointing out what lives beneath the surface. No experience needed. The reef just offshore of Crash Boat holds more life than most people expect from the Atlantic side of the island.

Volcanic Coast

Cueva del Indio: Into the Volcanic Rock

Formed from volcanic rock and shaped by millennia of Atlantic waves, this cave system is one of the north coast's most striking natural features. Your guide leads you through the formations, into the interior, and out to the clifftop where the view opens to open ocean. The scale of what the sea has carved here doesn't fully register until you're standing inside it.

Swimming

Arecibo Lighthouse Tidal Pool: The Atlantic, Contained

Next to the historic Arecibo Lighthouse, volcanic rock has been carved by centuries of Atlantic waves into a natural swimming pool that refills with every surge. The lighthouse has stood watch over this coast since 1897. Your guide shares its full history while you take in one of the most unusual swimming spots on the island, open ocean crashing on the rocks twenty feet away, the pool calm enough to float in.

Cultural Stop

Puerto Rico's Largest Monument: Bigger Than the Statue of Liberty

Most visitors to Puerto Rico never know it exists. Standing on the north coast, this monument is larger in scale than the Statue of Liberty, and most Puerto Ricans know exactly what it represents. Your guide gives you the full story and the cultural context that makes this stop far more than a photo opportunity.

Final Stop

Black Sand Beach: The North Coast's Hidden Finale

We close on a stretch of black sand, a short walk through volcanic terrain with Atlantic waves on one side and cliffs rising on the other. Most guests have never seen a black sand beach before this day. A quiet, striking finish to the island's wildest coastline. Nobody goes home without taking pictures here.

"The caves were unlike anything I've seen in all my travels. Our guide knew every inch of the coastline and made us feel like we had the whole north coast to ourselves. The tidal pool swim was a highlight of our entire trip to Puerto Rico."

"We did four tours in Puerto Rico and this was the one everyone kept talking about on the plane home. Cueva del Indio is extraordinary. The black sand beach at the end was the perfect finish. Completely private, just our family of six."

David R.Jan 2026

"Took three tours with them and it was such a great experience! The tour guides are super engaging and knowledgeable. They also truly care about your safety and enjoyment! They really go above and beyond in every level! Thanks Arnie and Alvin!!"

"The monument stop was a surprise, I had no idea something that large existed in Puerto Rico. The guide's context about its significance made it one of the most memorable stops of our entire vacation. Don't skip it."

Everything you need to know before you book.

Hotel pickup and drop-off from San Juan, Rio Grande, Luquillo, or Fajardo. All transportation in a private vehicle throughout the day. A certified bilingual guide from start to finish. Snorkeling gear for Crash Boat Beach. Everything except meals and personal purchases.
Approximately 9 hours door to door, depending on your pickup location. We start early to beat crowds and take advantage of morning light on the coast. The pace is relaxed, no rushed stops.
Moderate. The cave and coastal walk involves walking on uneven volcanic rock, sturdy closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended. The tidal pool swim is optional. There is no climbing required. Your guide leads at the group's pace.
No experience needed. The reef at Crash Boat is shallow and calm, and your guide is in the water with you throughout. Gear is provided. First-timers do great, the water is clear enough to see the bottom and build confidence quickly.
Yes. The north coast runs year-round. November through March brings larger Atlantic swells and more dramatic coastal scenery. Summer months tend to offer calmer water and better snorkeling visibility. We monitor conditions before every tour.
This is a private tour with an 8-guest minimum. Smaller groups are welcome, you pay the equivalent value of 8 guests ($1,400 base rate) and the tour runs exclusively for your party. Beyond 8 guests, each additional person is $175. Call or text us to discuss logistics for larger groups: 787-209-2127.
Smaller groups are absolutely welcome. We require the equivalent value of the 8-guest minimum, which is $1,400. Think of it as reserving the private tour for your group. If there are 4 of you, you pay $1,400 total ($350 per person). If there are 6, you pay $1,400 total ($233 per person). Additional guests beyond 8 are $175 each. Call us at 787-209-2127 and we will give you the exact pricing for your group size.
